Junior Gong

Damian Marley is the most versatile and prolific of the Marley family. He bridged the gap between conscious Reggae and Hip-Hop/R&B. At a time that both genres were veering off to commercialism, Junior Gong released music that upheld the root of these genres in terms of lyrical content and musical authenticity.

Damian Robert Nesta "Jr. Gong" Marley, born July 21, 1978, is a Jamaican Reggae recording artist. Damian is the youngest son of Bob Marley. Damian's nickname Junior Gong is derived from his father's nickname of Tuff Gong. Damian has been performing since the age of 13.

Damian Marley has released 4 solo studio albums so far:

  • Mr. Marley (1996)
  • Halfway Tree (2001)
  • Welcome To Jamrock (2005)
  • Stony Hill (2017)

His collaborations with other artists are on the other hand countless. Just to name a few: Alicia Keys, Nas, Cypress Hill, Buju Banton, Mariah Carey, Bruno Mars, and Mick Jagger. These collaborative releases contain some rare joints and precious gems of which we compiled a selection for this channel.
